Martin Luther said, “Next to theology, I give to music the highest praise.”
There is a place for just about everyone in our music ministry! Find your place in any of the groups below:
Chancel Choir: For adults, young and old. This group rehearses most Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Music Room, except in summer. They have a lot of fun while serving in this important weekly ministry. They go Christmas caroling in December, participate in occasional joint choir events in the Lakeside area, and enjoy fellowship events several times during the year.
Brass Ensemble: For adults and teens. The Ensemble typically plays for seasonal holy days or special events.
Bell Choir: The Handbell Choir is for adults and teens. They rehearse at 4:00 p.m. most Sundays in the sanctuary, except in summer. A typical year finds them playing a Christmas program at a nursing home or retirement center and attending handbell concerts in the Richmond area a couple of times a year.
Bell Ensemble: This is a small group of beginning ringers who meet at mutually agreed upon times to learn to play occasionally for worship. No weekly rehearsals.
Early Ensemble: Anyone attending the 8:15 a.m. morning worship service is invited to sing in this group, which practices for 10-15 minutes after the service most Sundays, except in summer.
Children’s Choir: Sings for worship about 4 times per year, including Christmas Eve. They usually have short rehearsals for 3 Sundays prior to each event.
Others: We encourage all who play an instrument to offer their talents in worship, whether solo, in duets or more. Let us know if you play an instrument! Contact the Music Director, Linda Keener through the church office.
