Upcoming Spring Events

There are several important and exciting events coming up at CLC over the next several weeks. Mark your calendars for these events:

April 23: CLC Clean Up Day. Join our Men’s Group from 9 am to noon for our church clean up day. If you enjoy yard work and getting your hands dirty, the CLC Clean Up Day is for you! Volunteers should plan to wear clothing appropriate for yard work. Wearing a pair of work gloves is also highly recommended. Participants are also asked to bring yard tools such as clippers, cutters, rakes, weedwackers, chainsaws and blowers (gas powered tools are preferred). A light continental-style breakfast will be provided.

If you want to help, please register on the signup sheet in the Commons or contact Mitch Roberts through the church office.

May 7: CLC Yard Sale, 8:00 am-2:00 pm (Rain or Shine). To benefit our Appalachia Service Project to Brenton, WVA this August. Here’s your chance to not only get rid of those extra items you have stored away in your closets, attic and garages for years, but to help a worthwhile mission project in the process. You may donate items to Christ Lutheran to be sold or you may sell your own items by reserving a table or space with a $20 donation. We will be accepting donations starting Sunday, April 17. We are particularly looking for donations of gently used clothing and shoes as well as usable household items, toys, books, etc. Contact Carol Jones or Sylvia Lewis through the church office for more information.

May 8: Deadline to purchase tickets for Faith Night at the Diamond on May 14. Cost is $8.00 per ticket. Please see the Faith Night display in the commons area for more information. Place your order and payment in the green envelope and give to Sandra Boclair or Stan Carey or just place in the offering plate.  Make your reservations now.  Last year’s Faith Night Event sold out!

May 14: Faith Night at the Diamond.
Richmond Squirrels vs. Altoona Curve.  Pre-game music and post-game fireworks.  Make reservations by May 8 through Sandra Boclair or Stan Carey.

May 15: Picnic on the Porch event to raise funds for our ASP Mission trip in August.

June 5: Ministry Leaders Discussion. Leaders of all CLC related or sponsored ministries and activities are urged to join this discussion. The conversation will be centered on program and budget plans for 2017. While the meeting is intended and recommended for ministry leaders, all CLC members who would like to participate and contribute to the discussion are welcome.
